Nigeria Software Testing Week ("NSTW26," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have — in plain language, and consistent with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly when you use this site, including:

Event registration (any of our six event days): your name, email address, phone number, job title, company, how you heard about NSTW26, and any additional details a specific day's registration form asks for (for example, your role, class level, or areas of interest).
Speaker, press, and sponsorship applications: your name, contact details, job title, a short bio, a profile photo you upload, and details specific to your application (proposed session topic, media organisation, or company sponsorship contact).
Quality Leadership Day (QLA) sponsorship letter requests: your name, email, phone number, and your explicit consent to receive marketing communications.
Payment information for paid tickets: handled entirely by our payment processors (Paystack or OPay) — see Section 4.

We do not use cookies, web beacons, or any third-party analytics or advertising trackers on this site.

2. How We Use Your Information

To process and confirm your registration or application, and to contact you about it.
To send confirmation emails and, where relevant, event updates and reminders.
To process payments for paid tickets and issue confirmations.
To organise the event itself — for example, preparing attendee lists, certificates, and speaker/press credentials.
To add you to our mailing list for future NSTW communications, where you've provided your details through a registration or application form, or explicitly opted in (as on the QLA sponsorship letter form). You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email we send.
To maintain internal records of registrations and applications for planning and reporting purposes.

3. Children's Information (School Career Day)

Our Secondary School Summit ("School Career Day") is designed for secondary school students, and is typically registered for by a parent, guardian, or teacher on the student's behalf. Where a student registers directly, we collect only what's needed to organise the day (such as class level). We do not knowingly collect more information from minors than is necessary for this purpose, and we do not use any student information for marketing. Parents or guardians may contact us at any time (see Section 7) to review, correct, or request deletion of a minor's information.

4. Payment Information

Paid tickets are processed directly by Paystack or OPay, our third-party payment processors. Your card or bank details are entered on their secure checkout pages and never pass through or get stored on our servers. We only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, along with a transaction reference, to mark your registration as paid.

5. Data Retention

We retain registration and application information for as long as reasonably necessary to organise the current and future editions of NSTW, maintain accurate records, and meet legal or accounting obligations. You may request that we delete your information sooner — see Section 7.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) across the site, restricted admin access protected by hashed passwords, and signature verification on all payment webhooks. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard practices.

7. Your Rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act, you have the right to:

Ask what personal information we hold about you.
Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
Ask us to delete your information, subject to any legal or record-keeping obligations.
Withdraw consent to marketing communications at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 9 — we'll respond as soon as reasonably possible.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time as NSTW grows or our practices change. We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page whenever we do. Continued use of this site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
